COVID-19 Coronavirus Updates and Guidance

The County is taking a number of actions to keep residents safe and minimize the spread of COVID-19. Find status information for County operations and services.

Recyclable Commodities

Baltimore County operates a single-stream materials recovery facility (MRF) at 10275 Beaver Dam Road, Cockeysville, Maryland 21030. The facility processes:

  • Aluminum
  • Cardboard
  • Paper
  • Plastic variants
  • Steel cans

The County markets recovered recyclable material on a monthly basis. We accept bids for the next month’s materials approximately 10 working days prior to the end of the current month. Contracts for these bids are due four days before the end of the month (the schedule may change for holidays). The County will email pricing requests to customers who have purchased or expressed interest in purchasing recyclable commodities. To be placed on the email list, please write to RecyclingBids@BaltimoreCountyMD.gov . Links to pricing requests will be posted on this webpage each month while the auction is open for bids.

Quality Tests

The next quality test will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at 10 a.m.  If you are interested in observing, please email RecyclingBids@baltimorecountymd.gov to coordinate a visit. The next bid period starts on Thursday, April 16, 2020 and ends Friday, April 24, 2020 at noon.
