Benefits Screening Call Center

Residents Can Now Call 311 to be Connected with a Benefits Specialist

A new service is now available to assist low-to-moderate income county residents connect with federal, state and local benefits. County residents can call 311, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., to be connected to a benefits specialist at CASH Campaign of Maryland (CASH) for assistance in connecting them with the right resources that meet their needs.

CASH, which promotes creating assets, and savings through programs that offer economic advancement, is now offering its benefits screening and support services via phone and by appointment. Callers to BaltCo 311 will be screened and directed to make an appointment with CASH’s experienced and compassionate benefits screening team. All calls with CASH are confidential and offer a customized screening for over 20 different benefit programs including, but not limited to:

  • Temporary Cash Assistance
  • Temporary Disability Assistance
  • SNAP (formerly food stamps)
  • Medicaid
  • Women, Infants and Children program (WIC)
  • Maryland Utility Assistance
  • NeedyMeds (discount pharmacy program)
  • Discounted cellular and landline programs
  • Maryland Children’s Health Program
  • Child Care Subsidy Program
  • Child Support Payment Incentive
  • Free and Reduced Price School Meals
  • Head Start & Early Head Start
  • Renters & Homeowners Tax Credit
  • Child Tax Credit
  • Earned Income Tax Credit

During the appointment, CASH’s trained case managers will assist callers to complete applications and navigate the process. In addition, CASH can guide County residents remotely and at no cost, in the development of a plan for strengthening their economic stability through financial coaching and financial education classes.
