Areas of Focus

Among other areas, the workgroup is expected to focus on the following aspects of Code Enforcement:

  1. Resources – Does Code Enforcement presently have adequate resources to deliver the level of service demanded by residents and the County Executive?
  2. Timelines – Related to the resource discussion, are the current timeframes to close service requests reasonable and in line with the best interest of the community?
  3. Administrative Hearing process – Are hearings on code enforcement violations sufficiently accessible and transparent for the public?
  4. Vacant Property – Are there best practices or policies for reducing the number of vacant properties in neighborhoods, ensuring stronger accountability for property owners, and eliminating blight that Baltimore County should embrace?
