EPS Variances

The Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability (EPS) publishes a list of the environmental administrative variance requests along with their status. The requests are listed by County Council District.

Planning Board Meetings

Baltimore County Planning Board meetings are scheduled as follows:

Landmarks Preservation Commission Meeting

The Landmarks Preservation Commission meeting will be held on Thursday, February 8, at 6 p.m., in Room 104 of the Jefferson Building, 105 West Chesapeake Avenue in Towson.

Design Review Panel Meeting

The Design Review Panel meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 14, at 6 p.m. in Room 104 of the Jefferson Building, 105 West Chesapeake Avenue in Towson.

Beachwood Water Main Replacement 

Baltimore County will begin replacing an eight-inch and a 12-inch diameter water line, both cast iron, which have frequently failed, on Rosebank Avenue, Edgewater Place, Glenhurst Road and Bletzer Road. The project, estimated to cost $1.5 million, should begin in late spring and be finished by the spring of 2019.

Old Battle Grove Sewage Pumping Station

Public Works is renovating the Old Battle Grove Pumping Station in Dundalk. Work began in May 2017. The station, now about 13 percent complete and estimated to cost $2,050,681, should be completed August 22, 2018.

Thompson Boulevard Pumping Station

Public Works is renovating the Thompson Boulevard Sewage Pumping Station. Construction began in August 2017 and is expected to be completed on August 21, 2018. The station is expected to cost $2,248,000. It is estimated to be three percent complete.

Peninsula Boulevard Pumping Station

Public Works is renovating the Peninsula Boulevard Pumping Station (8401 Stansbury Road). Construction began in August 2017 and is expected to be completed November 7, 2018. The station, now about 11 percent complete, is expected to cost $1,790,400.

Trappe Road Bridge to be Repaired

Public Works will repair the Trappe Road Bridge (Bridge 0599) located at the conjunction of Trappe Road and Lynch Road. Work began in late November 2017 and should take about three months to complete. The project will cost about $200,000.

Waldman Avenue Sewage Pumping Station

Baltimore County is renovating the Waldman Avenue Sewage Pumping Station at 7301 Waldman Avenue, 21219. Construction began in August 2017 and will take about a year to complete. It is 17 percent complete and when finished will cost $1,507,281.

Fort Howard Area Eight-Inch Water Main Replacement

Baltimore County will replace 8,000 feet of cast iron water line in the Fort Howard area this year on Todd Avenue, Howard Avenue, Blank Avenue, Fort Avenue, North Point Road, Old Bay Road, Chestnut Avenue, Bayside Avenue and Oak Avenue. The project, which started in May 2017, will take between 12 and 15 months to complete. Water lines in the Fort Howard area have been prone to failure in recent years. This $2.2 million project should correct that problem. It is 95 percent complete.

Quad Avenue Pumping Station Rehabilitation

Public Works is rehabilitating the Quad Avenue Pumping Station in Defense Heights. The project, which costs $2,240,000, is now 90 percent complete and should have been finished in October.

Opening Rules for the Wise Avenue Bridge

The Wise Avenue Draw Bridge can now be raised and lowered for water traffic with notice to the Department of Public Works and Transportation. To request a bridge opening, call 410-887-8160, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., or call the Public Works dispatch number at 410-887-5210.
