EPS Variances

The Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability (EPS) publishes a list of the environmental administrative variance requests along with their status. The requests are listed by County Council District.

Planning Board Meetings

Baltimore County Planning Board meetings are scheduled as follows:

Landmarks Preservation Commission Meeting

The Landmarks Preservation Commission meeting will be held on Thursday, June 14, at 6 p.m., in Room 104 of the Jefferson Building, 105 West Chesapeake Avenue in Towson.

Design Review Panel Meeting

The Design Review Panel meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 13, at 6 p.m. in Room 104 of the Jefferson Building, 105 West Chesapeake Avenue in Towson.

The Future Fullerton Reservoirs

The County’s contractor received a “notice to proceed” in January 2017 and the Department of Public Works and Transportation and Transportation broke ground in February 7 last year on the Fullerton Reservoirs—three are planned for the site. Construction is expected to take about three years and cost $80.1 million. The construction site is bounded by Ridge Road, Bucks School House Road and Perry Hall Boulevard. Engineers estimate that it is now 61 percent complete.

Water Line Rehabilitation: The Towson Fourth System

The Department of Public Works and Transportation and Transportation is replacing water lines in:

  1. Joppa Road, between Old Harford Road and Drumwood Road
  2. Oakleigh Road between Joppa Road and White Oak Road
  3. Satyr Hill Road from Lowell Ridge Road to Harford Road

The project began in February. It will be completed by spring 2019 and will cost $6.7 million. It is now 15 percent complete.

Sewers: Jones Falls Structural Rehabilitation Phase 1

Baltimore County began rehabilitating 66,000 feet of sewer line in July 2017 throughout Council Districts 2 and 5. The project will last a year and a half and will cost $3,393,583.60. It is now 47 percent complete.

Sewers: Herring Run Structural Rehabilitation Phase 1

Baltimore County is rehabilitating 81,000 feet of sewer line spread throughout Council Districts 5 and 6. Work recently began and has progressed about 57 percent toward completion. It is expected to be completed in a year and a half and cost $4,640,123.

New Water Main on Joppa Road

Baltimore County is replacing 7,000 feet of existing water pipe in Joppa Road, between Walther Boulevard and Belair Road. Construction began in August 2017 and is now 95 percent complete. The old pipe, which is being replaced with a new, 12-inch diameter line, has failed frequently. The project to improve the line is expected to cost $3 million and take a year to complete.

Extension of Missing Curb, Sidewalk-Widening on Cross Road

Public Works is planning to fill in missing curbs and sidewalks on Cross Road between Chapel Road and Forge Road. Construction is expected to be done this year.

Stoneleigh-Anneslie Stormwater Project

Baltimore County is addressing storm runoff concerns in the Stoneleigh-Anneslie community east of York Road. County engineers are designing a solution to update the 100-year-old drainage system which is currently serving the community. Baltimore County has earmarked $1 million for the project. During the process County engineers and residents are meeting every second Friday of the month to discuss and clarify community issues.

Sewer Project on Towsontown Boulevard

Baltimore County is installing a major sewer line through Towsontown Boulevard. The project, estimated to cost $1.4 million, started early this year in the area of Emerson Road and has been moving toward Bosley Avenue. Completion is expected in the fall. Construction, scheduled between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., has intermittently impacted traffic. Night construction began in late May.

Water Line Replacement in Campus Hills

Baltimore County is replacing an existing eight-inch diameter cast iron pipe in the Campus Hills area beginning in June. The project will cost $2.5 million.

Water Tank Rehabilitation

Baltimore County recently began structural repairs and interior and exterior painting of the Cub Hill Water Tank, which has a capacity of one million gallons. The job, expected to cost about $800,000, is now about 40 percent complete.
