EPS Variances

The Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability (EPS) publishes a list of the environmental administrative variance requests along with their status. The requests are listed by County Council District.

Planning Board Meetings

Baltimore County Planning Board meetings are scheduled as follows:

Design Review Panel Meeting

The Design Review Panel meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 14, at 6 p.m. in Room 104 of the Jefferson Building, 105 West Chesapeake Avenue in Towson.

The Future Fullerton Reservoirs

The County’s contractor received a “notice to proceed” in January 2017 and the Department of Public Works and Transportation and Transportation and Transportation broke ground in February 7 last year on the Fullerton Reservoirs—three are planned for the site. Construction is expected to take about three years and cost $80.1 million. The construction site is bounded by Ridge Road, Bucks School House Road and Perry Hall Boulevard. Engineers estimate that it is now 44 percent complete.

Sewer Project Begins on Towsontown Boulevard

The Department of Public Works and Transportation and Transportation and Transportation has begun work on a major sewer line running through Towsontown Boulevard. Construction is planned between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily, and some traffic delays should be anticipated due to lane shifts needed to accommodate the utility work. The project, estimated to cost $1.4 million, will start around Emerson Road and move east toward Bosley Avenue. It should be finished in the early fall.

Water Line Rehabilitation: The Towson Fourth System

The Department of Public Works and Transportation and Transportation and Transportation is replacing water lines in:

  1. Joppa Road, between Old Harford Road and Drumwood Road
  2. Oakleigh Road between Joppa Road and White Oak Road
  3. Satyr Hill Road from Lowell Ridge Road to Harford Road

The project will begin sometime in February; it will be completed by spring 2019 and will cost $6.7 million.

Sewers: Jones Falls Structural Rehabilitation Phase 1

Baltimore County began rehabilitating 66,000 feet of sewer line in July 2017 throughout Council Districts 2 and 5. The project will last a year and a half and will cost $3,393,583.60. It is now 23 percent complete.

Sewers: Herring Run Structural Rehabilitation Phase 1

Baltimore County is rehabilitating 81,000 feet of sewer line spread throughout Council Districts 5 and 6. Work recently began and has progressed about 25 percent toward completion. It is expected to be completed in a year and a half and cost $4,640,123.

New Water Main on Joppa Road Started

Baltimore County is replacing 7,000 feet of existing water pipe in Joppa Road, between Walther Boulevard and Belair Road. Construction began in August 2017 and is now 65 percent complete. The old pipe, which is being replaced with a new, 12-inch diameter line, has failed frequently. The project to improve the line is expected to cost $3 million and take a year to complete.

Extension of Missing Curb, Sidewalk-Widening on Cross Road

Public Works is planning to fill in missing curbs and sidewalks on Cross Road between Chapel Road and Forge Road. Construction is expected to be done this year.

Herring Run Basin Sewer Rehabilitation—Wiltondale Community

The Department of Public Works and Transportation and Transportation and Transportation has been rehabilitating 19,000 feet of sewer line and 81 manholes in the neighborhood of Wiltondale. The project, which will cost $1,301,817.96, was scheduled to be completed in December 2017. About 99 percent of the work has been finished.
