The Office of Information Technology (OIT) works in partnership with other County agencies to provide business solutions that support the delivery of government services.

We support the County's needs in leading technology areas such as electronic commerce, wireless networking, geographical information systems, and document imaging. With a strong focus on customer service and continuous improvement, the staff and management of OIT are committed to supporting Baltimore County's needs with technology solutions that work.

Baltimore County Named Among Top Ten Digital Counties

The Center for Digital Government is a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies and best practices in state and local government. It also provides government, education and industry leaders with decision support, research and educational services to help them effectively incorporate new technologies in the 21st century. This survey is conducted in partnership with the NACo, an organization that provides legislative, research, technical, and public affairs assistance to county governments.

 

Innovation, Efficiency and Consolidation (IEC) Report

In order to meet the County Executive’s vision of a more efficient, and innovative County Government, the County’s Administrative Officer requested Baltimore County Agencies work with OIT and the Office of Budget and Finance (OBF) to identify projects that provide innovation, efficiency, cost savings, consolidations, vacancy reductions and better serve public safety.

Public Information Act (PIA) Requests

These adopted Regulations (PDF) set out procedures under the Maryland Public Information Act for filing and processing requests to any agency of the County general government for the inspection and copying of a public record of an agency.
