Question 9. In the mid 20th century, one last remaining cattle farm was located inside the Beltway in the County. What was its name and where was it?
Answer: The Pomona estate of the Riddell/Hutzler family near Pikesville on Naylor’s Lane was originally a land grant. A house was built in 1809 which is still standing. The farm was known for its prize Black Angus cattle well into the 20th century.
