Baltimore County to Turn Historic Courthouse Dome Gold
Towson, Maryland (December 30, 2013) – Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz announced today the lights on the dome of the Historic County Courthouse will be turned gold on Tuesday in support of the Towson Tiger football team as it heads to Frisco, Texas on Saturday at 2 p.m. in its quest for a national championship.
Black and Gold Friday
In addition, the County Executive is asking all County residents and employees to wear black and gold (for the Towson Tigers and not that team in Pennsylvania) this Friday in a show of support for Coach Ambrose and his team.
'Overwhelmed with Pride'
"When the Towson football team takes the field this Saturday, we want them to know that all of Baltimore County is on the sideline with them," said Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz. "The Tigers have had an amazing run, and we are so proud to be home to this great program. Being underdogs is nothing new for Coach Ambrose's team, so I would say look out Bisons."
"We are overwhelmed with pride for our Towson University football team," said Towson President Dr. Maravene Loeschke. "They are driven, focused and humble students who welcome the opportunity to represent the university, the Towson community, and the state in the national arena."
The game will be broadcast locally on ESPN 2.
Dome Lighting Details
The Historic Courthouse dome will be lit beginning between 4:30 and 5 p.m. on December 31. The Courthouse is located at 400 Washington Avenue, Towson, Maryland 21204.
