Baltimore County Commission for Women Raises Domestic Violence Awareness
'Hands Off – If You Love Me' Information Fair
Towson, Maryland (October 18, 2013) – The Baltimore County Commission for Women is hosting the "Hands Off - If You Love Me" information fair to raise domestic violence awareness in the community. The fair is on Saturday, October 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Randallstown Community Center. The commission is partnering with The Health Advisory Board of, Sinai LifeBridge and the Domestic Violence (DOVE) Program at Northwest Hospital.
Domestic Violence Awareness Month
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This is the time for the whole community to come together to build awareness and promote safe and healthy relationships for all individuals and families. Domestic violence experts and advocates, and judicial, elected and education officials are expected to attend this event. Local agencies that have been providing domestic violence victims' assistance will also be present to share their resources.
The Baltimore County Commission for Women was established by an act of the Baltimore County Council on January 3, 1977. Its mission is to educate, identify and advocate for programs, legislation and services to meet the needs of the women of Baltimore County.
