Beginning at 10 a.m., Principal Maria Lowry will welcome guests and the official Baltimore County Town Crier Fred Taylor will "kick-off" the occasion. Smith will present executive citations to the County presidents and superintendents, and each recipient will speak to the past, present, and future of their institution. Chesapeake's virtual laboratory is the first virtual learning classroom in Baltimore County. Educators blend 21st-century skill sets with old-fashioned research in a project-based environment with 3-D visualization. This school year, students will use the lab in geometry and environmental science courses; school officials say they will eventually expand to other subjects. The anniversary event is open to the public. Chesapeake High is located at 1801 Turkey Point Road, Essex, MD 21221. |
