Pink Lights Enhance the Old Courthouse on Washington Avenue Towson, Md. (October 7, 2009)—On Monday, October 5, Baltimore County Executive Jim Smith directed building service employees to turn on the pink glow adorning the Old Courthouse in Towson in a perfect shade of pink. Honoring National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Smith wants to share the County's support in joining the pink phenomenon, along with its pride as host to the Susan G. Komen Maryland Race for the Cure for the third year in Hunt Valley on October 18. "Baltimore County is committed to working with Komen Maryland to raise awareness of Breast Cancer and the money needed to find a cure," said Smith. "The pink Courthouse will serve as a reminder of the importance of early detection, treatment, breast cancer education, and as a symbol of this County's support for efforts to finding a cure." |
