Baltimore County Named Among Top Ten Digital Counties
Towson, Maryland (September 4, 2013) – Baltimore County was once again named among the top ten counties in the country using technology to improve services and efficiency by the foremost national authority on information technology policies and best practices in state and local government. The Center for Digital Government (CDG) ranked Baltimore County number seven in the nation, up from a number nine ranking last year, among counties with populations of more than 500,000.
The award focuses on jurisdictions' success in effectively and efficiently using digital technologies to serve their citizens, streamline operations and achieve measurable benefits. The awards program is part of CDG's Digital Counties Survey done in conjunction with the National Association of Counties.
Kamenetz Proud of Technology Use
"We keep moving forward every day with using new technology to maximize our efficiencies in a way that helps us better leverage our resources to enhance public safety, improve our schools, and enhance services for our residents," said County Executive Kevin Kamenetz. "I am very proud of our outstanding information technology staff and applaud their efforts to continuously improve our use of technology throughout County government."
