House Fire on Hammonds Ferry Road in Halethorpe
Baltimore County, Maryland (August 27, 2013) - On August 27 just after 1 a.m., Baltimore County Fire Department units arrived on the scene at 2011 Hammonds Ferry Road in Halethorpe with fire showing through the roof of a house.
Shortly after crews began extinguishing the fire with interior operations a mayday was called for a firefighter in distress. A second alarm was called due to the mayday call. This firefighter was located and removed from the house, and exterior operations were conducted. This firefighter was transported to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, with non-life threatening injuries. After the firefighter was located and removed from the dwelling, the second alarm equipment was canceled.
The fire was placed under control at 2 a.m., and the cause and origin of the fire is still under investigation.
