Kick-Off Launches Baltimore County Restaurant Week
Participating Restaurants to Offer Specials August 9 through August 25
Towson, Maryland (August 8, 2013) – Today, representatives from the Baltimore County Office of Tourism joined Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce President Keith Scott to launch Baltimore County Summer Restaurant Week 2013, which runs August 9 through August 25. Fifty-two participating restaurants across the County will feature special menus at a discounted, fixed price, offering one to three course lunch and dinner specials ranging from $15.13 to $35.13.
'From Fine Dining to Family Dining'
The Kick-Off took place at Barrett's Grill in Hunt Valley, where Chief of Staff Don Mohler encouraged County residents and visitors to dine out during the County's Restaurant Week and savor local flavor and delicious deals.
"Baltimore County's restaurants provide not only enjoyment for patrons, but employment to 25,000 workers," stated Mohler. "From fine dining to family dining, you'll find something to suit your taste and wallet during Baltimore County Restaurant Week."
Ten participating restaurants served samples of their Restaurant Week fare at the Kick-Off; they included: Barrett's Grill, Café Troia, Friendly Farm, Havana Road Cuban Café, Il Basilico, Island View Waterfront Café, Kooper's North, Pappas Restaurant, The Milton Inn and The University Club (at the Towson University Marriott).
"This is a great time to experience places you've been meaning to try," said Baltimore County Chamber President Keith Scott. "It's also a great time to experience the many diverse cuisines in the County and support the local restaurant industry."
In 2012, Baltimore County's restaurant sales brought in $1.4 billion, ranking them the second highest in Maryland; Montgomery County led with $1.8 billion.
