Northwest Area Recycling Center Closing Sunday, June 29

Randallstown Drop-Off Center Closing Due to Dumping; Center Will Not Relocate

Towson, Md. (June 27, 2008) — On Sunday, June 29, 2008, the Northwest Area Recycling Center will permanently close due to persistent dumping. The drop-off center, currently located next to the Liberty Road Volunteer Fire Station, 10010 Liberty Road at Deer Park Road in Randallstown, will not be relocated.

Baltimore County residents who have been using the Northwest Area Recycling Center and live in single family homes or town homes are encouraged to participate in the County’s once a week trash, once a week recycling program.  Residents who need a trash/recycling collection schedule and program guide may visit the Bureau of Solid Waste Management web site at www.baltimorecountymd.gov/recycling or call the Bureau’s customer service line at 410-887-2000.

Residents who have been using the Northwest Area Recycling Center and live in apartments or condominiums are asked to call 410-887-2000.  The Bureau of Solid Waste Management will provide information on current recycling options and ask for help in identifying multi-family properties where recycling opportunities might be expanded.
