| Towson, Md. (June 10, 2008)—Baltimore County will close the Long Green Pike Bridge (ADC Map 20 K7, just south of Long Green Road) on Monday, June 16 for ten weeks, in order to replace and widen the 28-foot span.
While the bridge is closed, northbound traffic will be detoured to Glen Arm Road and Harford Road. Southbound vehicles will be detoured from Long Green Pike to Long Green Road and then to Manor Road.
The bridge, built in 1916 and spanning Long Green Creek, has been posted to restrict vehicles weighing over ten tons and was temporarily repaired last year in anticipation of a complete replacement and widening of the old structure this summer. Construction, which will be finished by the end of August, is expected to cost $300 thousand. |
