County Posts One of Largest Population Gains in Maryland
Towson, Maryland (March 27, 2014) – Baltimore County is having a growth spurt. The latest figures from the U.S. Census estimate that Baltimore County's 2013 population jumped to 823,015, an increase of more than 5,300 residents over the previous year. This is one of the largest population increases in Maryland.
"A gain of 5,300 residents says a lot about Baltimore County as great place to live, work, shop and enjoy life," said Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz. "We have a wonderful range of homes in communities that are convenient to jobs, great schools, recreation and some of the best shopping and entertainment in the region."
New luxury apartments, town homes, shops and entertainment in downtown Towson and the Owings Mills growth area and attractive waterfront homes in Middle River have attracted new residents to Maryland's third largest county.
'Attractive to Families and Young Professionals'
"Baltimore County's population is larger than four states, yet we retain a community feel and a quality of life that is attractive to families and young professionals," added Kamenetz.
