Career Options Forum for High School Graduates

Towson, Md. (February 3, 2012) - The Baltimore County Office of Human Resources invites graduating high school seniors and others to explore the range of career opportunities available to them. This Alternative Career Options Forum for Non-College Bound High School Graduates will take place tomorrow, Saturday, February 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Randallstown Community Center, located at 3505 Resource Drive in Randallstown.

The forum is geared to students who will be graduating this year who do not plan to attend a four year college or university upon graduation and those who have graduated or obtained a GED, as well as veterans. Employers and organizations participating in the forum include:

  • Baltimore County Department of Human Resources
  • Baltimore County Division of Workforce Development
  • Community College of Baltimore County Apprenticeship Program
  • A number of area trade schools,
  • Private employers
  • Military recruiters from the Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force.

"We understand that college is not the path that everyone chooses and want to offer practical guidance for those individuals who seek rewarding careers in a number of different fields," said County Executive Kevin Kamenetz. The County Executive added that Baltimore County is recruiting for Probationary Fire Fighter positions beginning February 6 and forum attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about these and other opportunities with County government and other employers.
