Suspect Charged with Sexual Child Abuse
Baltimore County, Maryland (November 1, 2013) - Baltimore County Police have charged Raymond Fernandez, 49, of the unit block of Crosswall Court, 21236, with the sexual child abuse of two teenagers. At the time the abuse occurred, Raymond Fernandez was a teacher and a youth group leader at Greater Grace Church, 6000 block of Moravia Park Drive, 21206.
Recently, the victim came forward to report that Raymond Fernandez had sexually abused him in 1997. The victim reported that the suspect was a church youth group leader, and that the victim had been abused during youth group functions and at the suspect's home. Detectives also learned that the suspect had sexually abused a second victim associated with the church youth group in 1997.
Raymond Fernandez was arrested this morning, and is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
