Man Shot By Detectives Charged with Armed Robbery
Baltimore County, Maryland (October 12, 2013) - Derek Alexander Roberts, 44, has been charged with one count of armed robbery and use of a handgun during a felony for an armed robbery that occurred on October 2.
At 4:38 p.m. on October 2, two men entered the American Bullion Center in the 2300 block of York Road, 21093, in Precinct 7/Cockeysville. One suspect, later identified as Derek Roberts, displayed a handgun. The suspects forced two employees to the floor and tied their hands with zip ties. The suspects fled with jewelry, coins, a phone, and a handgun from the store. The other suspect, Richard Bruzdzinski, 42, was arrested on October 8 and charged with armed robbery and related offenses.
Derek Roberts has also been charged with first degree assault for his actions towards the detectives on October 2. He is currently being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
