Assault Occurred in Precinct 11/Essex

Baltimore County, Maryland (September 5, 2013) - On September 4 at 9:22 p.m., Baltimore County Police responded to 444 Liquors and Sports Bar located in the 400 block of Eastern Boulevard in Precinct 11/Essex for a report of a stabbing. Upon arriving at the location, officers discovered the owner of the establishment, 45-year-old Balwinder Singh Sandhu of Baltimore, suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. His injury is believed to be non-life threatening.

The initial investigation into this incident has indicated that Balwinder Singh Sandhu had become involved in a physical confrontation with the suspect inside the establishment. The confrontation continued as the suspect was escorted outside. When outside of the establishment, the suspect stabbed Balwinder Singh Sandhu once in the abdomen with a knife. The suspect then fled the scene.

Suspect Arrested

Police located the suspect nearby and took him into custody. He has been identified as 26-year-old Christopher Scott Hall of the unit block of Old Maple Court, 21221. Christopher Scott Hall was charged with first degree assault, second degree assault, and possession of a dangerous weapon. He is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $250,000 bail.

The incident is under investigation by Precinct 11/Essex patrol personnel assisted by detectives in the Investigative Services Unit.
