County Executive Jim Smith declared the month of June National Caribbean-American Heritage month during a ceremony in the County Executive office honoring members of various Caribbean-American associations. Attendees included Noelle Godfrey liaison to the Institute of Caribbean Studies in Baltimore, Rick Nugent President of the Jamaican Association of Maryland, Dr. Elaine Simon President of the Caribbean-American Festival Association, Michelle Godfrey Member of the Jamaican Association of Maryland, Pastor Stanley Murray of the Central Church of God in Reisterstown, and Delegate Shirley Nathan-Pulliam.
