Welcome to Emergency Preparedness
Caring About Preparing, a 7 week, 72 hour preparedness kit.

Your 7-week guide to creating an emergency supply kit to see your family through the first 72 hours after a disaster until basic services may be restored.

Dear Baltimore County Citizen,Jim Smith, is the Baltimore County Executive.

After witnessing the catastrophic events in the Gulf region, and on the County's east side during Hurricane Isabel, it is easy to see the need for each family to have adequate supplies and an emergency plan.

This program, Caring About Preparing, is a simple week-by-week plan to help you gather the basic items needed for a home emergency preparedness kit, and create an emergency plan for your family. Follow this easy weekly shopping checklist and guide, and in seven weeks, you'll be prepared for the types of disasters most likely to occur in the Baltimore County area.

Sincerely,

Jim Smith
Baltimore County Executive
