Original release (September 12  12:55 p.m.):

Just after 3:30 a.m. this morning, Baltimore County Police received a call for a shooting occurring near the intersection of Dunmanway and Yorkway in the Dundalk area. Officers arrived and found a 17-year-old boy suffering from a gun shot wound to the upper body.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

Police have not determined a motive for the shooting at this time and are continuing to investigation this crime. If anyone has information concerning this shooting, please call the Baltimore County Police at (410) 307-2020.

Police have no further information at this time.  

Baltimore County Police are investigating a Wednesday night shooting in Dundalk that left one person injured.

At 6:25 p.m., Baltimore County Police responded to the 2900 block of Yorkway 21222 after receiving several calls for an assault in progress and shots fired. When checking the area, officers found an adult male with a single gunshot wound to his lower body. The male was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. His current condition is unknown.

The initial investigation into this incident has indicated that the victim was in the area when he was approached by two suspects. One of the suspects produced a handgun and began firing at the victim, striking him once.

There is no suspect information at this time. Investigators will be working to determine if the victim was targeted.

This incident is being investigated by the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit.
