The Baltimore County Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning.

On Sunday, January 12, at approximately 1:17 a.m., Baltimore County Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Whitehead Court, 21207 for a shooting. Upon arrival, police found the unidentified 18-year-old victim lying in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower back. The police investigation revealed that the victim was at the Motel 6 attending a birthday party for a friend when he was shot by suspects. The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction of travel.  

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries and is expected to recover. The investigation is being handled by Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) detectives. 

Anyone with information about this incident is being asked to call investigators at 410-307-2020. They may also qualify for a reward up to $2,000 if they contact Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP or by email at info@metrocrimestoppers.net and the provided information leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.  

No additional details are available at this time.

Update (January 8): The victim has been identified as Jason Andrew Meisenhalder, 40, of the unit block of Cedar Drive, 21220.

Baltimore County Police are investigating the death of a male found in Rocky Point Park in the Essex Precinct.

On January 7, at about 4:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the 2200 block of Rocky Point Road for a check on subject call. Officers found a man lying on the ground. Detectives were notified and responded to investigate.

Police do not suspect foul play, but a final ruling on cause and manner of death will be made by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner following an autopsy.

The victim is not being identified at this time.

Update (January 8): The victim has been identified as Daniel Cedillo, 28, of an unknown address in Baltimore City. The Medical Examiner will rule on the cause of death.

BCoPD detectives are investigating the death of a man found this morning behind Logan Elementary School, 7601 Dunmanway in Precinct 12/North Point.

The man -- who displayed no apparent cause of death -- has not yet been identified. Police believe him to be an adult.

Police were dispatched to the scene at 6:58 a.m., after a school support employee found the victim lying at the extreme rear of the school property, next to a public sidewalk. The victim was deceased when police arrived.

Detectives do not believe at this victim died as the result of foul play, but the Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death following an autopsy.
