A 3-year-old boy who is currently the subject of a child abuse investigation died yesterday morning.

A preliminary autopsy has been completed but the results are pending further analysis by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Police initially responded with medical personnel to the unit block of Glenwood Road in Essex on January 19 for an unconscious child. The child, identified as Cameron Anthony Blake, was initially transported to MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center and later transferred to The Johns Hopkins Hospital Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for treatment. The case became a possible child abuse investigation after hospital personnel reported the child had injuries consistent with child abuse.

This case continues to be investigated by the Baltimore County Crimes Against Children Unit.

Original release (August 25, 2016  8:39 p.m.):

On July 14, 2016, a 28-year-old man reported to Baltimore County Police that he had been sexually assaulted by the suspect who is his step-father.
The man told investigators that the abuse occurred from the time he was 13 to the time he was 16 at his home in Freeland, Maryland. The abuse involved the suspect, who is his step-father, touching his genital area mainly while he slept. On one occasion, he awoke to find the suspect touching his genital area over his clothing. The victim also suspected that he was being watched while in the shower or alone in his room.
The suspect has been identified as 53-year-old David Roesler of Pennsylvania. Roesler turned himself in at the Towson Precinct August 24. He was charged with child abuse and fourth-degree sex offense and released on $50,000 bail.
Investigators believe that there are no other victims.
Roesler was with the Baltimore County Police Department for 30 years; last serving in the K-9 unit. He is no longer with the department.

Robert David WrightA  35-year-old Cockeysville man who is a youth group leader at a Baltimore County church has been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.

Robert David Wright, of the 10000 block of Hillgreen Circle, 21030, is held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $150,000 bail.

An investigation by BCoPD’s Crimes Against Children Unit found that Wright had downloaded to his home computer thousands of pornographic images of female babies, toddlers and prepubescent girls, including images of children being raped.

The investigation shows that Wright shared these images electronically with other users.

Wright is a youth group leader at Clynmalira United Methodist Church, 2920 Stockton Road, Phoenix.  There is no evidence at this time that any of the children pictured in the photos and videos recovered at Wright’s residence were members of Clynmalira UMC, or that Wright sexually abused children himself.  However, the investigation is ongoing, and detectives are still reviewing the vast amount of pornographic material seized from this suspect’s home.

All images of child abuse recovered during investigations by the Crimes Against Children Unit are forwarded to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the nonprofit organization that serves as the clearinghouse nationally for information on missing and exploited children. This organization attempts to identify victims of child pornography.
