A 10th grade student is recovering after being stabbed in the upper body outside of Woodlawn High School this morning.

Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Woodlawn Drive for a call of a stabbing at 11:15 a.m. They located the victim, 16, near the tennis courts at the back of the school property. The victim was transported to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma in Baltimore City for treatment of a minor stab wound.

One suspect was taken into custody at the scene, but police continue to search for a second suspect that fled prior to their arrival. Police believe the victim was targeted by the outstanding suspect, who is believed to have committed the assault.

This incident continues to be investigated by officers of the Woodlawn Precinct Investigative Services Team.
