    On December 28, 2013 at 11:46 p.m., police were called to a home in the 1200 block of 63rd Street 21237 for a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived on the scene, they found an adult male and an adult female suffering from cut wounds.

UPDATE (August 30):

Detectives have arrested and charged Carlos Lomax, 45, of the 300 block of Whitridge Avenue, 21218, with the murder of Charles Mitter and Tyray Wise.  He is the stepbrother of of Charles Mitter.  The defendant was arrested on August 29 and is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bail.  Detectives believe that the murders occurred during a robbery.  He has been charged with 2 counts of first degree murder, use of a handgun during a felony crime, 2 counts of armed robbery, and one count of burglary. The investigation remains open at this time as detectives look for a second suspect. Additional information will be released when available. 

 

UPDATE (August 26):

Baltimore County Police have released the names of the people killed in an apartment in the 9800 block of Whitney Drive 21237 early Monday morning.

Charles William Mitter (39) and Tyray Avia Wise (26) were attacked in their apartment by unknown suspects. Charles William Mitter was pronounced deceased at the scene. Tyray Avia Wise was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center where she was later declared deceased.

Detectives believe that the suspects targeted the victims. There is no indication of any danger to the community.

This incident remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.

UPDATE (August 25 4:36 p.m.):

A second victim has died following this morning's incident in a home in the 9800 block of Whitney Drive, 21237.

At 1:44 a.m. this morning, Baltimore County Police and Fire personnel responded to a home in the 9800 block of Whitney Drive 21237 for a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered two adults, both seriously injured. A man was declared dead at the scene; a woman was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center where she later died.

Detectives do not believe that this was a domestic incident. They believe that the suspect or suspects targeted the victims, and that this crime was not a random act.

Police continue to await the results of autopsies, conducted by the Office of the Medical Examiner, on both victims.

This incident remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Baltimore County Police at 410-307-2020.

Original release (August 25 11:03 a.m.):

At 1:44 a.m. this morning, Baltimore County Police and Fire personnel responded to a home in the 9800 block of Whitney Drive 21237 for a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered two adults seriously injured. One adult was declared dead at the scene; another adult was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

This incident is under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit. Detectives will be working to determine if this was a targeted crime.

UPDATE (August 26):

Baltimore County Police have charged three suspects in connection with the August 19 shooting in Windsor Mill.

  • Randell Ga-Juan Michael Joseph (18) of the 4800 block of Laurel Avenue 21215
  • Frank James Blackwell (21) of the 500 block of Decker Avenue 21205
  • Coron Demon Johnson Jr (20) of the 900 block of Pennsylvania Avenue 21201

All three men have been charged with attempted first degree murder and related charges. They are being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

At 1:45 a.m. August 19, Baltimore County Police responded to the area of Elesmere Drive and Tudsbury Road 21244 for a report of shots fired. The victim was located in the area suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

The initial investigation into this incident has indicated that the victim and another person were walking along Elesmere Drive near Tudsbury Road when they were confronted by the suspects. The suspects displayed a gun and robbed the victims of their cell phones. As the victim and the person he was with ran from the suspects, one of the suspects shot the victim at least once.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

This incident remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit.

Original release (August 19):

BCoPD's Violent Crimes Unit is investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning in Precinct 2/Woodlawn.

Two men -- brothers -- were walking along Elesmere Drive near Tudsbury Road, 21244, at about 1:45 a.m. when they were confronted by four or five male suspects. The suspects displayed a gun and robbed the victims of their cell phones. As two brothers ran from the suspects, one of the victims --  33-year-old man from the 21244 zip code -- was struck by gunfire. He is expected to survive his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
