    On October 23, cardiac arrest survivors, Baltimore County Fire, EMS and elected officials came together at the Parkville Fire Station to raise awareness of the dangers of sudden cardiac arrest and the importance of immediate use of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation in giving victims a chance at survival.

    “It’s incredibly rewarding and moving to see people who are here today because someone cared enough to learn how to provide CPR and use an AED,” said County Executive Kevin Kamenetz.

    Local survivors of cardiac arrest also shared their stories at today’s event: Elise Fellner, 16, of Forest Hill; Richard Beverage, 61, of Parkville; Chris Malczewski, 32, of Parkville; Bob Pollack, 53, of Middle River; Ann January, 44, of Parkville; and Kim Barranco, 48, of Towson.

The Baltimore County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying persons in reference to the use of stolen credit cards in Baltimore County.

On May 28, the victim left her wallet at a store on York Road in Cockeysville. She realized that the wallet was missing when she was contacted by her bank about fraudulent activity on credit cards that had been in her wallet.

The investigation has indicated that the cards were used at a WaWa store in Baltimore City and a Rite Aid store in Timonium.

Investigators have obtained surveillance photographs of several persons and a gold 200 Mercury passenger car in reference to the use of the credit cards.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call police at 410-307-2020.

Update (July 16):

Baltimore County Police have charged a suspect in connection with a Monday night shooting in Essex that left a man injured.

Dorwick Anthony Mallory (20) of the 1400 block of Browning Court 21221 is charged with attempted first degree murder and related charges. He is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

The investigation has indicated that Dorwick Anthony Mallory and the victim were acquaintances but the exact motive for the shooting remains unknown.

Police responded to area of Middleborough Road and Hartland Road in Essex Monday night for a report of a shooting. The victim was later located at Middleborough Road and Route 702. The shooting itself occurred at Strawflower Road and Sandystone Road, a short distance from where the victim was found.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Original release (July 15):

At 6:50 p.m. Monday night, Baltimore County Police and Fire personnel responded to the area of Middleborough Road and Hartland Road in Essex for a report of a shooting. An adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound was later located at Middleborough Road and Route 702.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. His current condition is unknown.

The initial investigation has indicated that the shooting occurred at Strawflower Road and Sandystone Road, a short distance from where the victim was found.

This incident is being investigated by the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit. Detectives will be working to determine if this was a targeted crime.
