Date: Feb 6, 2014

On Thursday evening at 6:53 p.m., Baltimore County Fire Department units were dispatched to 1004 Wilson Point road, Middle River, for the report of an apartment fire.

Prior to the Fire Department's arrival, there were reports from a helicopter that there was a lot of smoke coming from the apartment building. The first units, from the Middle River Volunteer Fire Company, arrived at 6:56 p.m. and found fire showing from the first floor apartment located at 1004 Wilson Point road, with possible extension and people trapped on the second floor. A second alarm was requested at this time. The residents of the second floor apartment were able to self evacuate the apartment complex without the assistance from the fire department.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in the first floor apartment quickly, containing it to that apartment; there was no extension into the second-floor apartment.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters on the scene.

Detectives continue to investigate the shooting of three people that occurred in front of the Fire and Ice Hookah Lounge in Randallstown. Anyone with information on this incident asked to call the Violent Crimes Unit at 410-887-6286 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
