    Police Investigating Homicide in Catonsville

    The Baltimore County Police Department is investigating a double shooting that left one man dead in the 7000-block of Upper Mills Circle, 21228.

    On September 15, at 5:54 p.m., a Baltimore County Police supervisor was in the area of Johnnycake Road and Upper Mills Circle, 21228, when he heard the sounds of gunshots. The police officer investigated the sounds and found a male victim running down the street suffering from at least one gunshot to the back. Police were able to determine that the suspects had fled the area in a red van and broadcasted the information to other police units in the area. Police officers located the red van fleeing westbound on Route 40 West (The Baltimore National Pike) towards the Howard County line. The suspects driving the red van crashed into numerous vehicles, including police cars while fleeing from the crime scene. Baltimore County Police were able to get the van stopped and took the two male suspects into custody on Route 40 at the Baltimore County/Howard County line at the bridge.

    There were two male victims, one was found deceased inside a car in the 7000-block of Upper Mills Circle. The second victim, who was found running from the scene by police was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His condition at this time is unknown. There were no injuries to the police involved in the pursuit and apprehension.

    The two male suspects were taken to a police facility, where they will face murder charges along with a list of other charges. Baltimore County Homicide investigators are handling this case.

Update (March 12): Clarence Tipton was found deceased in a creek in the 4800 block of W. Northern Parkway in Baltimore City on August 7, 2013. DNA results identified him in early March. No foul play is suspected.

At 11 p.m. on July 6, a family friend called 911 to report that Clarence Tipton had failed to return home from a trip to a local deli. At approximately 7:30 p.m., he left the home to walk to Sam’s Deli in the 6700 block of Windsor Mill Road and has not been seen since that time.

Mr. Tipton is a white male, 53 years old, 5’8” tall, 170 pounds, with gray hair and dark eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown shirt, brown jeans, and black shoes.

He has medical conditions that require daily medication, and may be in need of medical treatment. He does not have a vehicle.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Mr. Tipton is asked to call 410-307-2020.

The Baltimore County Police Department is currently investigating a shooting in Precinct 11/Essex.

At approximately 1:28 p.m. today, Baltimore County Police responded to the 200 block of Back River Neck Road, 21221 for a shooting. The police investigation revealed that the unidentified male victim was shot at least once by an unknown suspect. Police are searching the area for a suspect at this time.

The male victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and is expected to recover from his injury.

Baltimore County Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on November 22 at 4:04 p.m. at Towson Town Center.

Preliminary investigation shows that the victim was in the men's bathroom, near the food court, when two male suspects displayed a knife and demanded his money and cell phone. The victim complied, and then chased the suspects through the food court and into the third floor of the mall.

The victim caught up with one of the suspects and pinned him against the wall outside the Call It Spring store. A plainclothes security guard responded to assist the victim, and the second suspect returned to assist the first suspect. A physical struggle followed, and one of the suspects displayed a handgun. Both suspects fled, using an exit near the Littman jewelry store.

The victim was not injured.

The suspects are black males, 18 to 20 years old, with medium builds. One was wearing a black baseball cap, backwards; and a black Polo jacket with Polo horse insignia. The other was wearing a black leather jacket, dark jeans and dark hoodie.
