Baltimore County Police are investigating an accident on Belair Road in Overlea Road last night that left a man deceased.

At 8:57 p.m., Baltimore County Police and Fire personnel responded to the area of Belair Road and Fuller Avenue for a report of a pedestrian that had been struck by a car. When they arrived on the scene, officers found a seriously injured pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to Franklin Square Hospital where he later died.

The initial investigation into this incident has indicated that the pedestrian was crossing Belair Road just north of Elm Avenue when he was struck by a 2004 Hyundai Sonata that had been traveling north-bound on Belair Road. The Hyundai remained at the scene.

The pedestrian has been identified as 53-year-old Gary Leahey of the 7900 block of St Gregory Drive 21222.

This incident remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Crash Team.
