UPDATE (March 18):

The suspect in the March 14 shooting in Randallstown that left a woman injured has died. He has been identified as 30-year-old Taavon T Gilliam.

Police have identified the victim as 29-year-old Madonna Nicole Gilliam of the 9600 block of Axehead Court in Randallstown. Her current condition is unknown.


Original release (March 14):

At 6:55 a.m., Baltimore County Police and Fire Personnel responded to a home in the 9600 block of Axehead Court in Randallstown for a report of a shooting. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered an adult female with at least one gunshot wound to the upper body. She was transported to Shock Trauma with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The initial investigation into this incident has indicated that the victim and the suspect were having some sort of interaction in front of the home. During that interaction, the suspect shot the victim at least once in the upper body. The suspect then fled the scene.

Officers later approached a car that the suspect was in at a location in Baltimore City. When they went up to the car, they found that he had a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to Sinai Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

The victim and the suspect were married and lived at the location. However, the suspect had been staying at another location for the past several weeks.

The Baltimore City Police Department is conducting the investigation into the self-inflicted gunshot wound.

This incident remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Department Violent Crimes Unit. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
