On December 15, at approximately 6:02 a.m., police were dispatched to the 3700 block of Old Milford Mill Road, 21208 for a check on subject call involving a woman screaming. Upon arrival, officers were informed that the unidentified male suspect attempted to attack a female who was walking near the location. Officers then spoke with the suspect, who was believed to be armed with a knife, and refused to comply with the officers' commands. Officers used tasers, pepper spray and ASP batons in attempt to take the suspect who was large in build into custody. The suspect was able to elude the officers and jumped inside a vehicle he was driving. The suspect then attempted to strike the officers with the vehicle. Two of the officers then discharged their firearms striking the victim at least once. After a very brief pursuit, the suspect who is not being identified at this time was taken into custody.

This incident prompted response by officers from the Franklin and Woodlawn Precincts to assist.

The suspect was immediately transported by Baltimore County EMS personnel to an area hospital. However, the suspect was still being combative and required three officers to escort him to the hospital with the ambulance. Several officers received minor injuries that did not require medical treatment. The female victim in this case was unharmed.

Baltimore County Police detectives are conducting their investigation. The officers involved in the shooting will be assigned to administrative duties until the preliminary investigation has been completed. The officers involved will be identified at a later time per department policy.
