Baltimore County Police are investigating a fatal crash Monday afternoon involving a motor scooter in Lansdowne.
 
At 2:46 p.m., Baltimore County Police and Fire personnel responded to Hollins Ferry Road and Hammonds Ferry Road for a report of a serious crash. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered that one of the vehicles involved was a motor scooter and the operator was seriously injured.
 
The initial investigation into this incident has indicated that a Honda CRV was traveling east-bound on Hollins Ferry Road. A motor scooter was traveling north-bound on Hammonds Ferry Road. The two vehicles collided in the intersection of the two roads.
 
The operator of the motor scooter was transported to St. Agnes Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. He has been identified as 33-year-old Derrick Lawson of the 2900 block of Grantley Avenue 21215.

This incident remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Department Crash Team. When the Crash Team is done its investigation, the report will be presented to the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office. The State’s Attorney’s Office will review the report and decide if any charges will be brought.
