BCoFD crews were dispatched at about 5 p.m. to an end-of-group townhouse fire at 610 Dunloy Court in the Mays Chapel area. First-arriving crews immediately called for a second alarm.

The fire at 610 Dunloy spread to the adjacent home, 608 Dunloy. Both of these units suffered heavy fire damage, and four adults and one child were displaced. One adult was temporarily displaced from 606 Dunloy, which suffered much less severe damage.

One firefighter was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

BCoFD determined that the fire began as the result of a backyard grill fire that spread to the townhome.
