The Precinct 12 officer of the month for December 2016 is Officer J. Marino.

Officer Marino is a dedicated officer who led his squad in overall enforcement during the month of December, routinely checking on businesses and suspicious individuals. He has been a key component to keeping the community safe during the busy holiday shopping season.

Officer Marino led his squad in enforcement of traffic law violations, as well, keeping a visible police presence in order to deter crime. He had more than twice his squad's average for serious traffic violation enforcement, including two arrests for suspended drivers, and clearing a case of an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Officer Marino also led his squad for felony case clearances. One incident that stands out occurred on December 30 around 10 a.m. when he responded to a call for a disturbance on Roberts Avenue. An initial interaction with one of the individuals led to a brief foot pursuit, which resulted in an apprehension and confiscation of an abundance of individually packaged narcotics that he had attempted to discard. The suspect was charged with possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute, and the illegal drugs were seized.

Officer Marino did an outstanding job of keeping the community and our citizens safe during the month of December. We are proud to call him a Baltimore County Police Officer. Congratulations, Officer Marino, on a job well done!
