Cites Success in Increasing Graduation Rates, Modernizing Schools
“In the last five years, we embarked upon a plan to build 16 new schools, 12 additions and multiple renovation projects,” said Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz. "We have increased our graduation rates. African-American and White students now graduate at the same rate in the Baltimore County Public Schools. And we have brought 21st century technologies to the classroom. We look forward to the next chapter of success for our school system."
County to follow Constitution and sound policing policy
Baltimore County is adhering to the Constitution and sound policing policies,” said Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz. “This is an issue of civil and constitutional rights. I am particularly concerned about the impact on police-community relations. Children are afraid to go to school, women are afraid to report domestic violence and people are afraid go to a hospital out of fear they’ll be deported. This is not what this country – and this county – are about.”
