- Master Plan 2010
Master Plan 2010 examines the policies and strategies that have guided past development of the county, and reassesses them in light of present and projected conditions.
- Planning Board
The appointed Planning Board advises the County on development-related issues, including its master plan, proposed legislation and capital budget.
- Zoning Commissioner
The Zoning Commissioner hears zoning cases, including variance, special exception, nonconforming use, and 'special hearing' cases. He also acts as Hearing Officer, conducting public hearings and granting approvals on proposed development plans.
- Office of Planning
Working closely with citizens, elected officials and other governmental agencies, the Office of Planning formulates policies, plans and regulations to guide future growth and to preserve and enhance existing communities.

- NeighborSpace
NeighborSpace of Baltimore County, Inc. is a non-profit organization that identifies and acquires land in Community Conservation Areas of Baltimore County. NeighborSpace provides small parks, gardens, and natural areas with the support of local residents, to benefit residents, and "green" older, established neighborhoods.
- Historic Preservation
The Landmarks Preservation Commission reviews and advises Baltimore County on historic structures. The Office of Planning publishes the meeting dates and agendas for the commission online.
