- inform family that you will call later to arrange a delivery date close to Christmas
- call family again before delivering gifts
- if you can't reach a family by phone, mail them a letter early with a date for reply
2. Gift ideas from the parents are suggestions only
- feel free to discuss gifts with the parents
- if you would like to purchase a doll, book, etc. that is ethnically sensitive, ask the parent for his or her preference
3. Food baskets should include ingredients to provide a bountiful holiday meal
- food certificates can be given for perishable items
- additional staple items and personal need products (shampoo, etc.) are optional
4. The Volunteer Office does not release the names of donors to the clients
5. If for any reason you are unable to help the family assigned to you, please call us immediately at 410-853-3024, 410-853-3023
6. Almost all the families being adopted for the holidays have been certified as eligible for Temporary Cash Assistance. A screening process by the Department of Social Services determines who is eligible for assistance.
