As the average wait on the waiting list for a voucher is approximately seven years, please review these other area resources:
- The GoSection 8 service helps voucher holders locate available units in areas where they chose to live.
- The Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS) is an innovative, voluntary program that helps Section 8 participants achieve economic independence over a five-year period. Participants work with a case manager, to assess their strengths, identify barriers, set goals and achieve them.
- HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) voucher program combines HUD Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) rental assistance for homeless veterans with case management and clinical services provided by the Veterans Affairs at its medical centers and in the community.
- Housing and Urban Development (HUD) - HUD's mission is to increase homeownership, support community development and increase access to affordable housing free from discrimination.
