Baltimore County's Skate Parks

Four Skate Parks Are Available For Boarders And Bladers To Enjoy

Hannah More, Cockeysville, Southeast Regional Recreation Center and Sandy Hills park all have street course facilities featuring a variety of ramps, jumps, and grinding rails, enclosed within a fenced court. The skate parks are supervised by Department of Recreation and Parks staff and have regular hours of operation that vary by season. One skate park is provided in each of four parks situated in different areas of the County in order to maximize access.

While there is no fee for use of the County's "skatepark," skateboarders and roller bladers that wish to use the facilities must register with the local recreation office and follow the established rules and regulations.

Completed in October, 2006 this skate facility features a mini-half pipe with spine, Grind box, Hip, Launch ramp with skate table, Grind Rail, Skate Bench, Manual, Grind Ledge, Drop-In Combo, Pyramid, and a quarter pipe, enclosed within a 12,800-square foot supervised area.

Hours

The park is currently open for operation on weekdays between 3:30 p.m. and dusk, and weekends from noon to dusk. Park hours are subject to change, and may be extended once school is out for the season. December, January, and February have weekend hours only.

Directions

The park is located at 12035 Reisterstown Road in Reisterstown. From the Beltway, take 795 N to exit 7A for Franklin Boulevard. Continue Franklin Boulevard to Reisterstown Road make a left. After the shopping center, turn right at light into Hannah More Park driveway, continue to right for parking. Skate Park is behind Chapel and Office Building.

Cockeysville Skate Park

Completed in March 2003, this skate facility features a variety of ramps, jumps, and grinding rails, enclosed within within a 12,000-square foot area.

Hours

The park is currently open for operation on weekdays between 3:30 p.m. and dusk, and weekends between noon and dusk. Park hours are subject to change, and may be extended once school is out for the season.

Directions

The park is located off of Galloway Avenue in Cockeysville: From the Baltimore Beltway (Interstate 695), take Interstate 83 North to exit 17 for Padonia Road East. Continue east on Padonia Road to York Road and make a left.  Get in the right lane of York Road and make a right on Galloway Avenue immediately after the fire station. The parking area and skate park will be just ahead on the right, to the rear of the fire station.

Sandy Hills Skate Park

Long popular with boarders from all across the Country, Sandy Hills Park is the home of the County's first skate facility, an, "old school," large concrete skate bowl. In addition to the bowl, the park features a new skate park street course, parking, comfort station, and playground.

Hours

Hours are from 3 p.m. to dusk on weekdays, and noon to dusk weekends. The facility will have expanded hours on certain holidays. Sandy Hills skate park hours will be extended during the summer, once school is out for the year. Park hours are subject to change.

The park is located at 3326 Bero Road:  Interstate 695 to Exit 9 – Hollins Ferry Road East, Right on Kessler Road, Left on Caledonia Avenue, Right on Bero Road

Southeast Area Skate Park

Hours

Hours are from 3 p.m. to dusk on weekdays, and noon to dusk weekends. The facility will have expanded hours on certain holidays. Hours will be extended during the summer, once school is out for the year. Park hours are subject to change.

Direction

Southeast Area skate park is located at Southeast Regional Recreation Center, 4021 North Point Blvd. From Points north of Dundalk: Take the Baltimore Beltway (Interstate 695) to exit 40 for North Point Boulevard South. Continue south on North Point Boulevard for just over 1.5 miles, the center is on the right.

From the Key Bridge: Take the Baltimore Beltway (Interstate 695) to exit 41, Cove Rd. At the top of the ramp turn left. At the first light turn onto North Point Boulevard. Center is on the right approximately half mile on your right.

Further information on registration and park operations is available through the Southeast Regional Recreation Center, which is open between the hours of 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. on Sundays.

Registration

While there is no fee for use of the County's skate facilities, skateboarders and roller bladers that wish to use the facilities must register. A parent or legal guardian must be present at the time of registration for anyone under 18 years of age. Helmets, knee and elbow pads are required for all skaters.
