Inclement Weather Policy
for Trash, Recycling and Yard Materials Collection

Trash Collection is the Highest Priority
Even in inclement weather, collection generally will occur on the day scheduled, although not necessarily at the "usual" time. The purpose of this policy is to clarify what residents should do when inclement weather prevents or interrupts collection of a material on the day scheduled.

Trash and Yard Materials
If trash or yard materials collection does not occur on the day scheduled, leave the material at your designated collection area and it will be picked up as soon as conditions permit.

Recycling
If mixed paper or bottles & cans collection does not occur on the day scheduled, retrieve materials and hold until the next scheduled collection day for that type of recyclable.

Drop-Off Centers
If your trash or recycling collection does not occur on the scheduled day due to weather related issues, residents' drop-off centers may be open for you to take your materials rather than wait for the next scheduled pick-up.  Please call 410-887-2000 before visiting any of the drop-off centers as they may also be closed in times of extreme weather conditions.

More Information
Particularly if extreme weather occurs, please pay close attention to the media or check our weather changes web page for updates. You can also call our 24-hour customer service message system at 410-887-2000.
