Ten Year Plan Development
In accordance with the Annotated Code of Maryland, Environment Article Section 9-503, the Baltimore County Department of Public Works is developing a new Ten Year Solid Waste Management Plan to cover the 2019 through 2028 period. A draft Executive Summary (PDF) of this new Plan is now available for review.
As part of the Plan development process, a County Executive-appointed Solid Waste Management Citizens Review Committee ("Committee") has been formed to provide input and recommendations to the County regarding the content of the new Plan. The dates, times and locations of future Committee meetings will be posted on the County website as they are scheduled.

Public Input Meetings
The Plan development process will include several opportunities for public input, including public discussion meetings and a public hearing.
Five public discussion meetings have been scheduled at Baltimore County Public Library branches around the County. The meeting schedule is as follows:
- Monday, January 23 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Perry Hall Library
- Monday, January 30 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Arbutus Library
- Wednesday, February 1 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at North Point Library
- Monday, February 6 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Cockeysville Library
- Thursday, February 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Pikesville Library
Please note that there are no “snow dates” for these scheduled meetings. If Baltimore County Public Libraries are closed due to inclement weather, the meeting on that date will be canceled.
In addition to the public discussion meetings, persons may submit written comments about the Plan to the address below. Written comments must be received by March 2, 2017.
