Ten Year Plan Development
In accordance with the Annotated Code of Maryland, Environment Article Section 9-503, the Baltimore County Department of Public Works is developing a new Ten Year Solid Waste Management Plan to cover the 2019 through 2028 period. A draft Executive Summary (PDF) of this new Plan is now available for review.
As part of the Plan development process, a County Executive-appointed Solid Waste Management Citizens Review Committee ("Committee") has been formed to provide input and recommendations to the County regarding the content of the new Plan. The next meeting of the Committee will be held on Thursday, May 4 at 7 p.m. in the Executive Conference Room at 400 Washington Avenue in Towson. Citizens may attend and observe this open meeting, though there will not be an opportunity for public participation. The County prefers that any citizens wishing to attend contact the Bureau of Solid Waste Management at 410-887-2000 by Tuesday, May 2.

Public Input Meetings
The Plan development process includes several opportunities for public input, including public discussion meetings and a public hearing.
Five public discussion meetings were held across the County during the months of January and February 2017. Minutes from these meetings are available upon request.
Baltimore County will hold a public hearing to solicit citizen input once a full draft of the new Plan has been created. The date, time and location of this meeting will be posted on the County website once it has been scheduled.
