Metropolitan District Financing and Petitions

Water Distribution Charge

Established in 1964, this charge furnishes funds for debt service of Metropolitan Bonds issued for the financing of capital expenditures for major facilities such as pumping stations, transmission mains and storage facilities.

The charge is determined by the size of the meter servicing the property. The minimum charge is $89.19 as of July 1, 2009.

Levy of the annual charge is based on the date of application and not the actual installation of the meter. It is an annual user charge and can only be removed upon notification by Baltimore City that a water meter has been abandoned.

Revised July 8, 2009
