These charges are levied on all properties, improved and unimproved, to recover construction costs of water and sewer mains and are amortized over a forty (40) year period. Once applied, these charges will not increase or decrease unless the property classification changes (i.e. subdivision/residential to business, small acreage to subdivision/residential, etc.) or unless the property is subdivided. Charges are based on the average width of the property and are calculated using the following rates:
Classification | Benefit | Principal Rate | Annual Rate (P & I) |
|---|
Subdivision/Residential | Sewer | $28.57 / FT | $2.00 / FT |
Water | $17.14 / FT | $1.20 / FT |
Small Acreage | Sewer | $28.57 / FT | $2.00 / FT (First 200 FT) |
$1.35 / FT (Second 200 FT) |
$0.65 / FT (Balance Over 400 FT) |
Water | $17.14 / FT | $1.20 / FT (First 200 FT) |
$0.80 / FT (Second 200 FT) |
$0.40 / FT (Balance Over 400 FT) |
Business | Sewer | $44.29 / FT | $3.10 / FT |
Water | $32.86 / FT | $2.30 / FT |
Note: Small acreage property principle is calculated using the subdivision/residential rate. However, the annual charge is calculated on a sliding scale as shown in the table.
