Street Sweeping

Baltimore County's street sweeping program is designed to keep debris out of the storm drains and the Chesapeake Bay. We remove over 6,000 tons of debris each year.

  • 7 street sweepers
  • over 2,600 miles of roadway

Sweeping Schedule

Assigned rotation schedules are used for all streets in Baltimore County with curb and gutter. Main thoroughfares, business districts and industrial areas are swept on a regular basis throughout the year. Residential neighborhoods are swept once a year by request.

Our neighborhoods are relatively clean because of conscientious residents who assist us by keeping the area in front of their homes free of litter and debris.

For additional information, you may contact the Bureau of Highways at 410-887-3560, or by e-mail at highways@baltimorecountymd.gov.
