Function

Our responsibilities are the design and the review of design of sanitary sewer projects in the capital budget.

The capital budget includes projects to provide collection systems for residential and commercial areas as well as pumping stations and major interceptors to carry wastewater to the two major treatment plants. In addition, the budget provides for the rehabilitation, repair and replacement of sewer lines and the upgrade of pumping stations.

Our design section is also responsible for evaluating and assessing the capacities of the system to ensure that the capacity exists to handle discharges in a manner that protects the health and safety of the public.
