Volunteer Opportunities Within the Baltimore County Police Department

Specific Volunteer Opportunities

Office / Front Desk Assistant

Assist officers at our Headquarters and various Police Precincts throughout Baltimore County by fielding general questions from the public, answering phones, light typing, filing, data entry and assist various departments within the facility.

Domestic Violence Coordinator’s Assistant

Assist the Coordinator within the assigned police precinct by, providing telephone assistance and referrals to victim(s) and the community, light typing,  filing, data entry, preparing informational packets, stuffing envelopes, maintaining various logs and helping with community awareness events relating to domestic violence prevention.

Juvenile Offender Coordinator’s Assistant

Assist the Coordinator within the assigned police precinct by, answering phones, light typing,  filing, data entry, preparing informational packets, stuffing envelopes, maintaining various logs and helping with community events relating to various juvenile issues.

Baltimore County Police/Fire Chaplains

Provide spiritual counseling and assistance to members of the Department upon request.  Assist with death notifications. Visit or contact sick or injured members, participate in funerals of active and retired members,  attend Department ceremonies to perform invocations and benedictions and respond to all major disasters in Baltimore County.

Hispanic/Latino Outreach Assistant

Assist the Coordinator with various duties including; translating, fielding calls from Spanish speaking victims and assisting with various outreach programs and community events.

Auxiliary Police Officer (21 years +)

A unique opportunity is currently available for the law enforcement enthusiast. The Baltimore County Auxiliary Police is now recruiting new volunteer members for their team. The Baltimore County Auxiliary Police Team of the Baltimore County Police Department was originally formed in 1942 as an arm of Civil Defense. In 1955, the Team was incorporated into the County Police Department and over the last sixty plus years, our duties and responsibilities have grown in relation to the needs of the citizens of Baltimore County. Our members have powers of arrest and perform a wide variety of assignments for the Department.  Positions are available for days, nights and weekends. How to Apply

Please note all positions require a signed authorization form allowing the agency to conduct a full-background check. A polygraph test and  fingerprinting may be required depending on the assignment requested.
